IMHO changes happen before 2025-26 or they won't happen until 2035-36.


If FSU and Clemson build a consensus for the mainly football schools to leave the ACC for the SEC, then it will be sooner rather than later, as the GOR will fall apart. I think they are waiting to see what Jim Phillips in particular does to mold the new rules for Tier1. If the playoff has a lot of at large bids, it's going to be tough to hold the ACC together for long period of time. They will fall further and further behind the Money Game.

However, if Jim Phillips can get the overwhelming majority of the playoff spots going to Conference Champions, not only could the ACC survive, but it can thrive. The good thing for him that is true, is with the majority of the conferences that is also true. If the SEC takes the mainly football schools in the ACC the rest of the Conferences are going to lose a bunch of members to. They have to want that to stop, because they are constantly in a hostile take over mode to survive, and that stinks!
